Our Story
Why KELVEA Exists
Hi, I'm Nathan R., founder of KELVEA.
KELVEA started with a simple observation: millions of dogs watch their eyes cloud over as they age, and their owners are still handed the same options they were handed thirty years ago.
When I started digging — for Ruby, my nine-year-old golden — I understood why so many dog parents eventually give up.
- Eye drops sit on the surface, where the problem isn't.
- Powders and chews demand routines most dogs refuse after two weeks.
- And surgery, when it's even possible, costs thousands and puts a ten-year-old dog under general anesthesia.
Between "let's monitor it" and three thousand dollars, there was nothing. I refused to accept that gap.
Built With a Vet, Not a Marketing Team
To close that gap, I partnered with Dr. Richard Hale, a veterinarian with twenty years in practice who has cared for thousands of dogs over his career.
We spent two years going through the research on canine vision and screening ingredients one by one. The goal was never to launch another generic pet supplement.
We wanted a formula built for one specific dog: the one who's getting older, whose lens is hazing over, who hesitates in the dark and misses the ball he caught easily a year ago.
Eight compounds. Every one chosen for a reason. Every one dosed to actually do something — not to look good on a label.
And every batch goes to an independent lab before it ships. If a supplier can't prove what's in their ingredient, it doesn't go in our bottles.
Made for Real Dogs
We knew the best formula in the world is worthless if the dog won't take it.
No prying eyelids open. No wrestling match every evening. No four-step protocol.
One dropper in the bowl. Ten seconds. That's it.
Because taking care of your dog's eyes shouldn't turn into a daily fight — not for them, and not for you.
Our Mission
KELVEA exists to give dog parents a third option: act early, act simply, without anesthesia and without emptying your savings.
Our mission is one sentence: help dogs stay confident, curious and present for as long as possible.
Because every dog deserves to chase a ball again, cross the yard without hesitating, and meet their family at the door. And every owner deserves better than "it's just age, keep an eye on it."
